    Notes:

    Ebenezer was one of the children taken captive in 1756 (age 4 yrs) and remained in Quebec for four or five years until restored by grand father Brig. Gen. Harnden. No mention of who raised him after being returned from Quebec.

    Notes:

    Ebenezer had two sons (Ebenezer and Samuel) and three daughters (Polly, Rebecca, and Mehitable).

    Ebenezer was shot and killed in Indian attack known as the Preble massacre. Refer to the book Preble Family in America, Page 16. The footnote gives an account of his death and the capture of his children. There is also a "Preble Massacre" paper by Henry O. Thayer that describes this event.

    Notes:

    Built at North end of Arrowsic Island by 1720. Moved from York to Arrowsic island on the Kennebec, and settled on a farm in the north part of that town in 1726. He was a millwright and built a mill on Negawasset pond and stream in Woolwich about 1730-31, for Hutchinson, a large proprietor. He was also a farmer and tanner.

    His descendants live in Boothbay, Alna, Edgecomb and Bowdoinham and are scattered up and down the banks of the Kennebec.
